Hi, all

I need an oscillator operating around several hundreds KHz. The oscillator
needs relative large tuning range, for example, ±200KHz at 500KHz center.

In addition, the oscillator is independent of temperature, and the oscillation
frequency is only related to current or capacitor.

Third, the oscillation frequency is linear with current tunning.

The first one I think is ne555, but I'm not familarized with it and I have no idea
how about its phase noise performance. Anyone can give a recommendation?

Thanks,

IC555 based oscilltor IS for digial based expt since it is square wave oscilltor..what is your need ..info about digital or sinewave osc..

Either square or sinusoidal wave is ok, and sinewave is better.

Any suggestion?

for radio frequency generation use LC oscillator(Hartley, colpitts ,clapps)and output will conatin harmonics...
for audio frequency generation use RC and wien bridge oscillator.morever it will form perfect sinewave..
for in and around 1MHz use crystal oscillator which will have fixed frequency of operation.

Non sinusoidal oscillators:(square wave producer)
i)astable(perfect square wave)
ii)monostable
iii)bistable multivibrator
iv)schmitt trigger( atype opamp based comparator)
