on screen display C++

i wanna write a software like OSD ( on screen display ) for windows media player. i succeed to create a windows and i define it always on top and transparent. so far everything is fine. but when media player switched to full screen mode my window goes back and only video plays on top. where is the problem??

It seems you having a layered display system. When full scree is activated, your settings of transparency are lost. I have no specific details, but I faced this situation when developing under linux systems that had multiple framebuffers.
