Olimex PG2 not working

Dear Freinds,
I soldered the components as in Schematic diagram.but it does not works.LED is continuously for 5 times for each second with out opening any programmer.
My first doubt the "As per DB 9 pinout 5 as given as Ground" but we used as Vdd. how iti is possible.Please help me.if you have any schematic including connectinb to PC please attach in the forum.I used 2 meter cable form PC.

It is always seem that small/ silly mistakes results in non working of circuits or projects. Re-check your hardware for any shorts, cuts and dry joints. You may refer the pages given in the below links with details of Olimex PG2 programmer with schemtaics. Anyways, the said programmers using serial ports are almost outdated while you may consider constructing or buying a USB port based PIC programmers such as PicKit2 lite, Or PIC Cruizer. Cheers
