old style dipole connector

hello

i have a NATIONAL PANASONIC RX-5030F tape recorder/radio. it has a dipole connector,which is an old style one. there are two pins in the connector,but they are showing continuity on my multimeter. i connected using crocodile pins,i am getting a signal even only one pin is connected.if i connect the other pin also,there is no change or improvement in the signal level.is there anything wrong with the connector.now how to connect my dipole to this connector?please help.
 

It sounds like a simple resistive splitter. One aerial input to Two outputs. You should get a measurement of around 150 ohms between any 2 connections. Any sort of passive splitter will degrade the signal. If you need some amplification, you will need a powered one, 1 in, 2 out amplifier. They are very commonly available.
