Noise Figure Calculation starts "late"

Hi there,

i wanted to plot the noise figure of my LNA. i got the touchstone file from the network analyzer and imported in into ADS.



as you can see on the image it only shows the noise figure of 7.5 GHz and higher. every other plot like S-parameter was fine over the whole frequency range. and sind my use frequency of this LNA is 5.5 GHz the plot is kinda useless.

can someone explain to me why it won't show any noise figure up to 7.5 GHz?

Can you understand Touchstone-Format S-parameter.

You can never capture NF characteristic in Touchstone-Format S-parameter using VNA(Vector Network Analyzer).
So NF=0dB is correct.

how can i plot the NF if i only got the touchstone file?

You can never plot NF as far as you use touchstone file witout noise data.

Surely learn Touchstone-Format.

is there any way to calculate the NF of my hardware? i dont have the option anymore to go to the lab again.

Use https://www.keysight.com/en/pc-1000000460:epsg:pgr/noise-figure-analyzers-noise-sources?cc=US&lc=eng

Or use Spectrum Analyzer having NF measurement ability.

Show me product names of Network Analyzer and Spectrum Analyzer.

i used the Network Analyzer Hewlett Packard 8720D. but i dont have the option to use it again. i only exported the touchstone file because i thought every relevant data would be saved there

You can never measure NF using 8720D.
