No dot marking on front or back of IC

I'm trying to solder the LTC1249 boost PFC controller from analogue devices however i cannot see a dot on either the top or bottom of the ic that indicates one of the corner (thus the orientation on the PCB):

The upper-left pin in the right picture is pin 1. You can tell by the orientation of the text. It probably also shows that on the data sheet.

At second glance, there’s a bevel on the left side of the chip; that identifies pin 1. Again, it’s on the data sheet
