Newbie here in forum! need help in robotics

i am a technology student and needs a robotic design which i need as my prototype in my course a final requirement to pass.
But the problem is we technology students dont have that much knowledge to design a complex robot. budget of (150-200US dollar).
I have here a interfacing module using parallel ports to program microcontrollers.

Can anyone here give me complete design if it is legal to this forum.
and the prgramming software i need i have here MPLAB that is for PIC right?
