Mplab X is available to download from Microchip.
This is a beta release so not all features are implemented.
It is cross platform for Windows, Linux and Mac.
Based on Net beans.
Looks very good.
 

Hi,

Yes its been around for a while, thing is it does not yet include the Pickit2 on its list of programmers - they say it will be included in the full release .
Still you can always uses v2.61 alongside...
