Will be measuring inductor for a 12v-5 volt car adapter. rated at 1A max.

Thanks

Hello,

Do you have some signal source, an oscilloscope and some resistors? If so, you can measure the inductance yourself based on |ZL| = 2*pi*f*L.

If you have two of these inductors and a power supply you can also determine at what current the inductor will saturate.

If you have to measure inductors frequently, it may be a good investment. Please note that the inductance of inductors with ferrite core depends on frequency. They don't mention the measuring frequency for the instrument.

hi,

try these links ....

hope this helps.

Without some instrumentation it will be difficult to measure it at certain frequency.

Can you post a picture of the inductor? The reason for this is that the minimum range for the cheap instrument is 20mH, so when the inductance is in the low uH range, the accuracy of the measurement may be poor.

You can try to build an oscillator based on a comparator and measure the frequency (assuming you have one )
