max_transition

Pin: U75/I

max_transition 2.00
- Transition Time 3.34
------------------------------
Slack -1.34 (VIOLATED)

and how? (above is the verbose violation report)

max_transition violated

General speaking, Max transition is one of DRC, you must fix this kind of violation before sign off

One possible reason is this pin has a big loading or wire is too long.

you should find out the real reason first, then you can do something as sizing, moving , adding buffer or changing wire by hand to fix it

yes, it is DRC ,need be corrected.
and correcting it would improve delay.

The Max transition problem is also around me...

I am always not sure what "max_transition" should be apply on the design????

Any idea???

My thinking when transition reduce:
(1) transient power consumption reduce.
(2) circuit speed increase.
(3) Safe usage for DC library.

But:
(1) worse signal integrity problem.
(2) Big design area.

How to do the trade-off?????

Thanks...

use this command

compile -inc -only_drc_rule

it depends, you need to do some analysis on the violations.

Some violations need not to be fixed if they do not harm to the delay greatly.
