Anybody have Zigbee Stack provided by Texas Instruments?

or any other Zigbee stacks which supports 8051 microcontrollers.

I have Microchip and Maxstrem Zigbee stacks but they are not ment for 8051 core ucs.

sdk cc2430

I have the Beta version. I have also made a product with it about 4 months ago. So it works, what exactly do you want?

The stack works well for CC2430DK. (this is what I used)

Did you get TI Z-stack free of charge or you bought a SDK from TI in which you got that.
I am also developing a product based on Zigbee in which I came to following conclusion:
1. Either you go for Freescale trnsceiver chip because they provide Z-stack and all other supporting softwares, Application notes etc free of charge. But the software and protocol stack they provide is I think only suitable for their HCS08 core controllers. I want complete Stack for 8051 core ucs.

2. TI is providing Z-stack for 8051 core ucs and the chip cc2420 is also very popular and easily available. But the problem is with the SDK and all supporting tools, softwares which they cost like nything.

According to you, what should I do? Shall I go for Freescale or TI?
what is your experience for developing TI based Zigbee products??

Hi

The followings should be mentioned:
1) Choosing either CC2430 or CC2420 + a microcontroller depends on the flexibility of your application, the money that you are preparing to pay and the space on the chip that is given to you. Usually the company that orders the product specifies what he wants.

2) Developing the application on CC2430DK was quite easy, it, I believed it took the team about 2 weeks to do everything. So that's quite cool.

3) The Z-stack is made available by Chipcon (TI) free of charge, rather was made and nothing important came along with CC2430DK. So that's cool

4) there are slilght bugs with the stack one of which was repaired by our team and emailed to chipcon.

Cheers

zigbee freescale vs ti

Can you give me the TI- Zigbee Stack and SDK which you have?? Because TI is no longer providing the Z-Stack as well as IC CC2430 till the end of this year. They are developing their own bug free stack But My product is in development stages and I can not wait for their new release. So if you can upload or mail me the Stack and SDK or development tool, it will be great.

Hey

Ok, tell me if this was what you were looking for

zigbee + 8051

Sadegh.j,
Thank you for the help. But now I think I must use the freescale MC1319/1321 zigbee chips. because TI cc2430 ICs are not available in the market till the end of this year. Also the SDK, Development tool provided by Freescale is also powerful and much easy for programming. But I need your help for Hardware and Antenna designing. Thanks a lot for your help.

Hey

Try using CC2430DK to start off with. and there is a manual on CC2430 which explains the antenna and hardware design which I haven't got on me now, what I did was to read these manuals, then order CC2430DK, then I coded it and got it working, I also needed the chip to do the hardware part, but well my contract with the company only included the coding, but my contractor is also looking for CC2430.

If you need that manual, tell me and I'll find it for you.

Cheers
