Hello all,
I'm trying to find a simple solution to make a led ring with smd packages. DOes it exist a simple way like a Autodesk Inventor with circular sketch pattern.

Does it exist the same placement function in Altium ?

Thanks for your help

G'day glias

Yes you can do that... it's been out since at least AD10. If you open the grid manager and click menu (hiding down the bottom right corner) and select 'add polar' grid. You're allowed to have multiple grids overlaying each other. You can then setup the angular requirements. **broken link removed**

The alternative is tricky, make a spreadsheet that translates the polar coordinates to Cartesian then manually assign the x,y location coordinates to each LED... time consuming and not fun! done it many times before the polar grid came out though!

Thanks a lot thunderdantheman, it's exactly what I expect.
