Need Guidance for Home Security System

hi,
i want to make a security system which may have following features

if door opens then a call is to made the stored number and when he receive the call a pre recorded voice message should play indicating that his door is opened.

I am planning to choose PIC16F877a, APR9600, Sim300.

Simulator: micro C.

Shall i Proceed with these with 4Mhz crystal.

So guys please suggest me shall i continue with these components i choose or guide me which suits best.

You can either use 4MHz crystal or the uC you say has an internal oscillator ..

Recently it was discussed in EDA Board that PIC16F877A doesn't have internal oscillator and a better choice if PIC16F887.

i am facing problem in AT Commands.
when i dial a number the sim300 is not giving me feedback whether the person is engaged or didn't pick the call or answer the call.
What are the commands to check the status of the called made to the person

start working GSM first, how to interface the pic16f877a with gsm...........

once u can make this then u have completed 70% of your project.........
