I know how to use google ! I have build two pic programmers, but no one works with 16f877A, bit it works with 16f877

I use a propic 2 (original hardware from **broken link removed** ) with icprog - I have programmed 16F877A's with it - no problems.

Sure,

Every 877 programmer could program 877A teorically.It is only related with software not hardware.I suggest Epic and Propic2.Dudes gave links above.

I got a -pic 16f877A programmer- in this way:

Primero escribi un programa en Visual Basic con comunicacion serie RS232 que me llevó 2 meses.
Luego escribi un programa para una pic 16f877 que recibe comunicacion serie e
interpreta comandos para grabar PICs de todo tipo inclusive 18f4550 y otras.
Esto último me ocupó un mes mas.
Despues hice qye funcionara todo junto.
Como veras,no estan fácil y me pregunto si estas dispuesto a tanto esfuerzo.
Como dice otro colega que te respondió , no es un problema de circuito,sino de programación.
Te aclaro que mi proyecto funciona en XP perfectamente.Ahora voy por USB.
La clave es que la PIC 16f877A necesita grabar de a 4 bytes y no de a 1 byte como la 16f877,eso es todo.
Por ejemplo: La 18f4550 graba de a 64 bytes.

ALSO YOU CAN USE MICROCODE STUDIO TO CONVERT BASIC COMMANDS TO HEX AND C.
