arp ----------->manipulate the system ARP cache
chat----------->engage the modem in an automated conversation
fping----------->send ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to network hosts
icmpinfo ----------->nterpret ICMP messages
ifconfig ----------->configure a network interface
ifdown ----------->make a network interface down
ifup ----------->bring a network interface up
ipacset -----------> set kernel ip accounting rules
ipchains ----------->administer IP firewalls
ipchains-restore -----------> restore IP firewall chains from stdin
ipchains-save ----------->save IP firewall chains to stdout
ipfwadm ----------->administer and account for IP firewalls
netstat ----------->display network status
ping ----------->send ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to network hosts
