need advice for selecting microcontroller for 1602F B display

Hello! i currently have an lcd display powertip 1602F B which i want to used for my project. however, all inputs on my mbed have been used up and i need advice for selecting the most user friendly microcontroller which i can use for the display. any schematic circuit and codes will be most helpful for any proposed microcontroller. Thanks!!

Hi,

You could look at the Arduino Uno complete boards, so simple to connect and program to a16x2 lcd
Pick up Uno clones on ebay for little more than the price of a Pic chip.
 

yes, i was also considering the Uno along with other microcontrollers. till i make my final selection. thank you!!!
