Need a single-chip modem solution.

Hi there!

I am searching for so called "single-chip" modem solutions that allow to build complete slow real modems (not soft-modems) with just a few parts.

Does anybody know companies creating such chips (except TDK)?
A real plus would be if they also would offer free samples ;-)
