multiple DPDCH in uplink in UMTS

"If more than one DPDCH is used simultaneously then all DPDCH must have the same spreading factor between 4 and 256 with a max of 6 DPDCH able to transmit at the same time"

OR

"If more than one DPDCH is used simultaneously then all DPDCH must have the same spreading factor OF (only) 4"

which of the above 2 statement is true? i been reading different books and i been getting different interpretation.
