MSP430f449 ADC program doubt

Hi ,
I have executed the following ADC program for single channel by connecting my flex sensor .When i checked the register ADC12MEM0 for digital output i could not find any changes.Please someone tell me where i have gone wrong? should i enable any interrupt in particular for this program?
