hi,,, how can i convert 230 v ac 50 khz to regulating dc(5v to 24V) plz help me as i m in basic level of electronics....

Re: conversion of 230 v ac to regulating dc power suply

Hi,

are you sure you mean 50kHz instead of 50 Hz?

***
a rectifier connected to a resistor divider network combined with a capacitor could do the job.
But it´s more guessing with this little bit of information.

***

a bit more information, please.

The frequency level would be 50Hz only and not 50KHz. The circuit which you are asking is called as Rectifier circuit. Google it you will get it.

sorry it was 50 hz can you plz explain in detail abt circuit.....

in google i m getting only fixed output circuit as 5 v or 12v etc using voltage regulatos 78xx... i want variable DC v...

Re: conversion of 230 v ac to regulating dc power suply

Hi,

things clearing up...

you want to build a power supply instead of building a voltage measuring circuit.

How much current you want to draw?
do you need isolation? (if not, are you aware of the risc of electrical shock?)
Do you need 5V AND 12V or you want a single output and adjust it to 5...12V?
(if adjust: how? pot, dac...?)

Re: conversion of 230 v ac to regulating dc power suply

What should be adjustable output voltage range required for you

Re: conversion of 230 v ac to regulating dc power suply

5volts to 18volts

Re: conversion of 230 v ac to regulating dc power suply

Since you do not need any current then a 5VDC to 18VDC power supply operating from 230VAC will be very small and simple.
Ask your teacher how to design it. Hint: An LM317 (1.5A maximum current) is usually used to build a regulated variable output voltage power supply but the LM350 (3A) and LM338 (5A) provide more current.

thank yu
can yu show me the circuit diagram... thanx once again in advance...
