hi,i want to calculate or derive the equation for transcondutance(gm) for MOS transistor.please help me to calculate the gm for mos..it will be very helpfull for my digital comparator (pre-amplifier stage) design...

Hi
you question isn't clear - you want to derive equation for gm manually (in this case refer to books on analog design) or you want to calculate gm using circuit simulators?
Regards.

If I understood your question:

gm is the derivative of IDS with VGS,
then, for

(a) MOS in saturation: gm = u0*Cox*W/L*(VGS-VT)

(b) MOS in linear: gm = u0*Cox*W/L*VDS
