hi all,
i searched the net a lot for an USR 56k winmodem which is on a PCI slot...
plz if some knws where is can find or if some is have the pre-compiled or source code den do send it to me on iltafkhalid (attttttt) yahooooooooooooooooooooooo....

you need to look at the chip number

i think this is either and intel or a lucent chipset

they use a generic driver rockwell have different drivers per maker
youll find default drivers for rockwell in windows will work

the lucent driver is easy to find and any version does any older chip modem

get intel drivers from intel.com

so if your still stuck use a camera and take a picture

my lspci output shows:

communications controller: 3com corp, modem division USR 56k internal winmodem

Go to **broken link removed**,
download the scipt scanmodem **broken link removed**
execute it and write down the information,
finaly go to
**broken link removed** and download the apropriate packages ;-)

Did scanmodem help U with installing your driver?
OK you're telling me your modem model but not the chipset manufacturer! Why not ?

I used it a few years ago and installed my intel 537 with no problems.

Added after 4 minutes:

sorry I didn't read your previous post :(
did U try this rpm?
**broken link removed**

if U are using a debian system use alien to convert the rpm to a deb package:
>alien 3com56k.rpm

yes i did used the 3com56k.rpm but invain...i have mentioned my chipset manufacturer as USR
