Hai

My ICD2 which was working normally suddenly started to show this message.

Code:

Programming Target...

ICD0275: Programming failed.

I have tried on another computer ,same result.

Is my ICD2 gone?
How can I trouble shoot?

Also

I have read in ICD2 advicery from Microchip

If you are having problems with ICD operation, please check the revision
of your pod, found on the back of the unit. If it is R15 through R21 without
an “ECO 3013” sticker, please contact your local Microchip FAE or sales
office to return the unit for replacement.

on the sticker in my ICD it is written
P/N 10-00319 R15 serial # BUR040310120

Will I get a upgrade?

I purchased through a distributor almost 3 years before

I have posted in Microchip forum. But I dont know how long it will take to get a reply there.

Help please.

As ICD2 operation failed, operating system download also failed.

Thanks

icd2 failure

Hi

Thanks for all responses.

Actually the USB buffers were damaged.(So was reported at least)

I got a free upgraded replacement from Microchip.

Thanks

That's the same pain I got over and over with ICD2 in the past 10 years. At first you thought it is a hardware/software design issue, and then you prove it's the ICD2 failure. Even though Microchip provides free exchange, it does bother if you do have a schedule to catch.

I used PICkit2 a lot recently, seems much reliable than the ICD2. Now the PICkit 2 starts to support In-Circuit Debugging. BTW, the PICkit 2 is also cheaper than ICD2.

I cannot imagine the disaster for guys with ICD2 clones. Where is the exchange support from Microchip?

With PICkit 2, hopefully, the nightmare with ICD2 will be gone. Good work, microchip, at least this time.
