Hi,
I am new to the field of metamaterials. Can anyone suggest any paper or explain how PEC and PMC boundary conditions mirror a unit cell and what is the difference between unit cell and periodic boundary conditions in CST?

Welcome tayyab004,

I don't know of any specific papers, but most electromagnetics texts deal with the concept of image theory - this is the basis for using PECs and PMCs as PBCs. Of course, a practical example is when you stand between two mirrors that are facing each other - you appear to see an infinite number of reflections. Unfortunately I only use HFSS, but I know there are others around here that use CST.

Good luck in your studies,
