Hi all,

how can we find the maxima (with respect to the position of a finite rod, that z the position where the heat amplitude z maximum) of a heat equation with non homogeneous boundary conditions.Else can u plz provide me any helpful site or books..thanx in advance..

Maxima of solutions of the heat equation can occur on the boundary if there are no heat sources in the interior.
