Matlab guideline for real time image processing

I am new to the world of image processing and Matlab. I need guidance that which path (like a course outline) I should follow to achieve real time image processing.

Matlab is one of tool which is used for image and video processing as Jeevarajan told simillarly one can use OpenCv or Freeimage tools also .....In most of cases in Industry Professional prefer to use OpenCv, FreeImage kind of tools.....
