I've noticed several methods that seem to enable devices to enter their fast charge mode or signal to the device when they are connected to a dedicated charge port or DCP.

By fast charing I'm thinking more than 0.5A and as much as 2.3A.

I'm trying to understand the difference and pro's and cons between the following two D+ D- signals. Both seem to put an iPad in fast charge mode.

Any knowledge here is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
