[Makefile] How can we read some text file in Makefile?

Hello All,

Can we open some text file for reading the text file in Makefile?
I want to open text file in read mode and than I want to extract some data from that text file. So Can I do that in Makefile?
Please help me to understand.

Hi it will be very tedious process, you can do this easily by writing a c file.......
