IC-Prog is a good programming software ,you will find supported programmers circuits at their site ,Ludipipo is so easy to make

I think you need the PIC Microcontroller developer guide for that, I think it is not that easy.
 
Hi !

You must read the AN910 application note from Microchip, it will clarify how the ICSP (serial programming method) works. The most of PICmicros are programmed via this method, but each model has its specifications (that can be found in the "EEPROM Memory Programming Specifications" available for each model). With all this documentation you know how to start your software.
