Hi
I have to design a power supply with universal input from 85v-280v. the PS should be isolated. the anticipated wattage is 250W. I have decided to implement a PFC stage using MC33262. or design using fly-back topology. the output needed is 220v. this supply will act as a automatic voltage regulator. now plz suggest me what should i follow, the (fly-back+sinewave convertor) topology or (PFC+half bridge+sinewave convertor). any suggestion will be greatly welcomed.
250W would be a lot of power for a flyback converter, a diagonal forward converter would be more suitable. That gets you isolation and AC-DC in one stage, but your input ripple current will be higher than with a boost PFC preregulator. You'll probably have to do some cost benefit analysis on the two options, there's no obvious answer.
Hi
Cost is not the problem i Just want some thing after PFC. BTW What is diagonal Forward mode convertor as i only know about 1T and 2T forward mode convertor.
