lm2578a duty cycle

Does anyone know any specific I.C. for PWM control of boost converters?

Re: PWM Controllers

Hi, what is the operation mode that your boost will work ? Continuous or Discontinuous operation mode.. with constant frequency or with variable frequency?? (dc-dc/ac-dc) ??

The rigth IC depends that.. but you can try UC3842, UC3852, UC3854
from TI -

You can try too the IC --> MC33363 from https://onsemi.com

Re: PWM Controllers

Continuous-current induction mode

Re: PWM Controllers

the unitrode (currently TI) has several current mode chips, among them UC384X are the most famous and also oldest products.
for proper selection of the chip (V power on and duty cycle) see the data sheet.

BEST!

Another famous and versalite Switching Regulator IC is National Semiconductor LM1578A / LM2578A / LM3578A.
It may be operated in either the continuous or the discontinuous conduction mode.
It can be used as either Flyback-, Inverting-, Step-Up- or Step-Down converter.

Functional Description
The LM1578A is a pulse-width modulator designed for use
as a switching regulator controller. It may also be used in
other applications which require controlled pulse-width voltage
drive.

Try to have a look at www.maxim.com and www.linear.com too.

UC384X is made by several companies:
Fairchild Semiconductor: www.fairchildsemi.com
Microsemi Corporation: www.microsemi.com
ON Semiconductor: www.onsemi.com
Philips Semiconductors: www.semiconductor.philips.com
STMicroelectronics: www.st.com
Texas Instruments Semiconductor: www.ti.com
