Salam zanov,

What do you mean with 'atmel' ?
Atmel fabricate 8051 based uC (AT89CXXXX) and AVR Based uC (AT90XXXX) ?

They are different architecturs.
Please you must specify which one.

Re: Atmel beginner

For the AVR uC check out Rob's website. He has a circuit for a cool AVR programmer somewhere on his site. It is easy to make and cheap. I think you should start with the AVR. It is quite a powerfull chip and faster than the PIC and the routines are simpler. I am also new at microcontrollers and find the Atmels easier than the PICs. :D

Alequm Salam SphinX, honestly I dont know. I am a beginner. I want to start somewhere. Have exploited the pleasure of using PIC in several small projects. Now I want to try Atmel.

Thank you

Re: Atmel beginner

Hi Anmel Beginner,
I have used MP Atmel 89C51, 89C52, 89C55, .....
Please use Keil (C51) to program for this chip.
Keil is the best for Family Intel 8051.
Good luck.
