Re: color Lcd
I can vouch for the above LCD.
I bought the LCD off ebay (not sparkfun) but after emailing them I was told that it is exactly the same LCD, with the same controller chip.
Also, sparkfun do 'carrier' boards, very handy, just plug in your LCD and you have all the pins you need available on a 0.1" standard pitch header. I'm not advertising here, but its a great and cheap way to get a small colour TFT into a project. In fact, I'm just about to order some more. Its TFT 128x128, which, when setup for full colour (65k?) looks incredible.
However, you mentioned a '3310 lcd', the closest colour equiv of that would be the LCD from a 3510i. Apparently it can display photo's, but its resolution is not quite as good as the one from sparkfun, however, this is easily interfaced with SPI (like most nokia lcds). The 3510i lcd requires an external backlight, whereas the one form sparkfun has it built it (and the carrier board steps up the voltage for it). However, making a backlight wouldn't be hard, if you buy the LCD from ebay, it'll come with the fascia for the hpone, which has the lightguide for the backlight attached. A few SMT white LED's would do nicely (again, done it myself).
It seems in the past year of so, the price of 1-2" colour LCD's has dropped, so get em now
