LM35 formula for changing voltage to temperature

i have tested the lm35 it is giving the output volatage of 4.2. now what is the temperature according to lm35. how to change this voltage to temperature

LM35 gives you 10mV/°Cso if you read 4.2V the temperature should be around 42°C ..

The LM35 gives you 10mV/°C, so the fact that you are reading 4.2V means the part is defective or its ground pin is not actually connected to ground.
 

cso lm35

at the max temperature (110 °C), the output voltage is 1,1 V.
