adjustable current source

Is it possible to design a constant current source adjustable from 0 to 5A using a LM338K (TO-3 case) voltage regulator with a single potenciometer?

Use the schematic for Precision Current limiter given in the datasheet. But the pot will be a low value, something not easy to find.
