i have used an a/c fault detector in my home electrical socket to test, which detects "live and neutral reversed issue". does it have any impact on my electrical equipments in longer run?
do i need really fix this issue?
Devices will function but its less safe. As an example light-bulbs are designed so the outside threaded metal part is neutral which you might touch while unscrewing it. Normally its safe, in your outlet it would give a shock.
almost all electrical equipment that meets any safety standard is designed such that the live and neutral are treated the same inside the unit - thus swapping should have no effect on operation. In practice, because the neutral is earthed at the local DB, the may be a slight difference in RFI from a unit ....
