Hi all,
iam doing a wireless network with star topology my center node(Tx) is having a linear polarization antenna and my end node(Rx) is also a linear polarized antenna, which is receiving good signal only at some angles. instead of that can i use circular polarized antenna on both sides or use curcular polarized antenna at any one side.
Hey,
As a general answer, for urban propagation the circular is better,
how ever, because WiFi is working in an unlicensed spectrum
there are many interfere signals many of them on horizontal polarization
and so you can get a situation that you have a strong signal but high PER.
Be aware that linear to circular antennas will loose -3 dB realtive to a pair of circular antennas. You may also want to look into the ellipicity issues which can cause additional loss if your polarization is not perfectly circular. Be careful as well so that you do not end up with RHCP to LHCP and an umexpected -30 dB or so loss.
hi, CP is suitable for high distance and outdoor communication whereas LP is suitable for indoor and high frequency communication, you should note that both TX and RX should have same polarization otherwise you may have notable loss
have fun
