line regulation of dc-dc converter

Hi all,

How to improve line regulation in PWM voltage mode DC-DC converter? on what factors it depends?

If it is voltage mode, you can only do one thing: increase the low frequency gain of the error amp, that is, use a zero in the design of the opamp (actually two zeros).

Another thing you can do is to add feedforward control to your system -- that is, to sense the input signal and add (or subtract) a scaled (and filtered) version of this from your control signal.

Note that feedforward does not change the poles (natural frequencies) of your system but it will change the zeros of your system. In this respect, I suspect feedforward control is similar to adding zeros to your compensator as mentioned by VVV in the previous post.

Best regards,
v_c

Hi
refer to the paper
"Feedforward control of DC-DC PWM boost converter"
MK Kazimierczuk, A Massarini - IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems 1997

Try to increase the bandwidth of your control loop.

you may refer to TI' s product TPS61030 or TPS62200.
feedforward is used to improve the line regualtion of the system

Added after 17 minutes:

I quite agree with VVV and V_C
