LED has no ESD diode...do we need to add one?

Hi,

Are the LED connections available to the user? Or why do you expect ESD? For production only?

ESD can cause just as much damage in the LED conducting direction if big enough. In any case, if you added diodes in parallel, use one per LED string, not one per LED.

For ESD to cause any damage it needs an entry point to the circuit, it would be more practical to stop it at that point than at the output (LED) side of the circuit.
