[PIC] LCD 16x2 LCD display doesn't work properly (with pic 16f877A)

hi,
I don't know which compiler you are using.I hope you know command and data can be send by 2 ways(4 bit /8bit).
First of all you have to send command for set 4bit/8bit.Your code is written for 4 bit.
So before clearing LCD,you have to set mode.Generally 28h for 4bit and 38H for 8bit.

I can remember when I did the interfacing 'LCD to a microcontroller' practical in the Lab I faced a similar problem. As I can remember it was due to some connection error in the LCD or the microcontroller. Better check all the connections again. There is a connection diagram & a sample source code in the Mikroc help. Try that one and see.
 

can anybody help me i m not getting any display on lcd
