Laser diode driver - help or information needed

Laser diode driver

Hi everyone!

I need some help/information to design an laser diode driver. I have been searching for the state of the art, but all I have found seems to me to be old-fashioned. For example in IEEE the papers I have found are all before 1985!

The laser diodes need to be fed with short current pulses (1 microsec.)

I want to desing it in the simplest way, so I was thinking about a bunch of bipolars. Any ideas?

I think that the best is use integrated drivers,
serch AD, ON SEMI, ROHM....
They exist up to 1Gbps if I know. And have integrated feedback.

I used before some time: MC10SX1130 and SLD202 diode

The threashould current varies a lot of with temperature.
like 25mA at 25C and 50mA at 50C.

Is there a curcuit that take care of the temperature?

use IC they have feedback to eliminate temp.... or two diode element (there is second used for feedback)
