large dot matrix led display

hi everyone.
i hv some questions about the large dot matrix led display...

if i want to use the larger size dot matrix led,can i use the same program to control it?

which of the transistor i should use to amplify? when i need to control 6 of them

i also need to know which type of shift register is suitable for them....i afraid that there is not enough port for me to connect it...

if i use the RGB dot matrix led display, what is the different between RGB and only have one color led??

for the control operation, i would like to use the RF to control it, if i need to connect it, should i need to use the IC to connect it and use it to connect to the microcontroller? the RF i may make about 4 buttons on it,..

i also want to control the brightness for it, if i use the c language to write the PWM, how can i write it?

because i need to connect it to computer with usb, for the hardware, what should i need to focus more? because i have not done it before, should i need to use the IC to connect the USB and the microcontroller?

can someone help me??

Yes, you can use the same programm if it is the same configuration only larger.

The transistors are dependent of the current though the LEDs. Most of the LED drivers can deliver higher current without amplification. Here are more informations necessary.

This is dependent from the output current of your controller.

It's the same like black&white and colour-TV :lol: With RGB matrix you can change the colours of each character.

Sorry, I don't understand the acronym "RF". Does you mean Remote control or radio frequency?

I prefer a brightness control only with hardware, if don't change it every few moments.

This is dependent from the decoders you want to use. You can use common anode or common kathode displays.

Better you make a schematic of that want you want to construct. More informations of the display are also helpful. How much rows and lines you want to use? How many characters you want to display?
