Can i just connect L298 in1,in2 etc to 8051's pin without any buffers? I connected with a buffer but i want to save space, but when i used buffer even with different power source for both UC and driver the UC reset itself, what might be the reason? I has 2200 uf caps and power buses of both the ICs AND finally what it reason behind to keep two 33pf caps on crystal oscillator?

33pF across oscillator is used as load capacitor, without which your crystal will not give clock output
required for microcontroller.
If you are using different power sources for driver & microcontroller then it is a good practice,
use opto isolator as a buffer between two stages.
If you can upload your circuit diagram then only we can tell you why is it resetting.

but i didn't use the caps across the crystal, did that cause the reset? (sorry i have not created the schematic but i had a 74ls08 as buffer and across its output i had my motor driver.) :?:
I lost my competition because of the "continuous reset" with some delay by the microcontroller :sad:

Hi,

I drive L298s direcly from my pic micro ports, so think your 8051 would be able to.

The crystal should be connected like the diagram, but as close to the micros pins as possible using very short wires.

Its hard to say what causing your resets without seeing a full circuit diagram, could be so many things.

connect your crystal as shown in the image.
cap1=cap2 use 33pF ceramic capacitors for 8051...

thanks every one i will connect the caps right away! :grin:
