keyboard and barcode scanner

hi,
i have a barcode scanner and i want to do barcode scanners cable 10 m.
but barcode scanner is working ;
keyboard doesn't work. no led active on keyboard and mouse is locked.
who can help me about this trouble and does anybody now two keyboard on a ps/2 keyboard port.

you may need a buffer


the cable is long

try adding a max 232 to it
to restore the levels

you also need a second port im shure

becouse each device needs it own port

except things like scanners


this is becouse
a keyboard has a continuious data stream

and you will need some sort of merge

look in google for a "pc keyboard merger -- ps2

but the problem then is the driver in windows would need to be multiclient

so best to use a hardware switch
or an inteligent merger

that disconnects the stream as the other talk like master slave

the ps 2 post setup dosnt support generic multiclient
so you would be best with a switch
or a box for this purpose from the local computer super store
