jobs jobs jobs...how to get one?!

it's very hard these days if you're a fresh grad to get a digital design job....it seems there are a lot of jobs out there but people are looking for at least 3+ years of experience. what are we supposed to do? why did we go to school? why does canada (in this case ontario) outsource so many jobs?
on top of that you can't get a job writing firmware for example (lowest level of responsability you can give an engg grad in my opinion), you can't get a job like that no....you have to get a technician job...a somewhat lesser position than what u're expecting because employers do not believe you're capable.....the education system sucks man!
lets take 2 abstract cases!
Case A) a student whose marks are average but has a PhD friend and has worked on many projects for/with him, actually soldering, layout etc.
Case B) Johnny, who copied assignments from his friends during school, got good marks, (eventually sneaked his way into a MSc) but is a meathead and if u ask him what is a decibel he will tell you its a measure of the strength of sound, or he wont have any idea what how to use a voltage regulator!!!!!!!
WHAT ARE WE COMING TO?

It's clear what you mean. The situation is about the same here in europe.

What you can do.
* not to complain about the situation, but act as an optimistic person
* show where your interests are, including your hobbies
* keep your eyes open, look around you and you will find many things to improve
* find as much information as possible about these things
* go to public discussions, exhibitions, trade fairs and actively discuss about your ideas
* try to put your ideas into practice, talk about it in forums, like here. Show that you are willing to work
* accept a job (unimportant what kind) where you get in contact with many people (maybe a fast food restaurant) and listen to the conversations, and try to contrbute a short sentence

In short: be optimistic, show that you like to work, be active, show your knowledge and opinion..
And soon a business man will be interested in you and want to talk with you. And in the same time you have won The situation is turned around: it's not longer you seeking for a job, but a company wants you.

interviews are also the experience to the world, try times, and smile to every failure. for the fresh, you could ask the job with a lower salary to get one to add your experience. Then you could show your skills in the working time to prove your capability. Learn in working, grow up in experience.
