integer ln

I want to calculate ln(a), where a is an Integer not real, to be able to synthesis it,
Is there an existing library containing the ln function ???
Thanks in advance ...

I can use the calculater as well !!!! ...
i want to burn my design on FPGA kit, so i have to write it in VHDL ...

U r right.
But u should clarify ur question from the beginning.
Good luck.

You might have to apporximate it using some other function. Please see ip cores in xilinx coregen module.

Depending on how much range and resolution you need, a simple look-up table stored in a block RAM may be sufficient.

That's a good idea, but can you please give me more hints or a link where i can read about this ??

Thank you,
