Hello,

I have some old analog ICs and a 6502 processor, and I'm curious if anyone tried to open a DIP package, expose the silicon chip and analyze it with a microscope. It's interesting to view simple analog and MSI, LSI chips, with reasonable large structures.

So, if you know a method or site about this, please post.

Thanks

it is possible .I recall one so long time ago .We wanted to take a look at one chip .We went to see people at the chemistry department .A professor there advices to use some solvent .That i wouldn't recall . We left the chips for hours on a bath of that liquid .And the plastic disolved easly .So is possble .you have now to find what solvent to use .I could not help you!
