i want know about filtering nature.....filtering whatever may be whether it is a lowpass ,high pass ,band pass or band reject filter comes under linear or non linear operation...thx in anticipation

Re: filtering----linear?

Can you be a bit more specific about what you want to know about filtering?
Would you like to know about

-- how to design a filter?
-- learn about different types of filters (analog/digital)?
-- learn about classess of filters (Butterworth, Chebyshev, etc.)?

If you can be more specific, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Cheers,

Re: filtering----linear?

only whether filtering is a linear or non linear? ie whether filtering is producing any new frequency in the output (nonlinear) or else output will have frequency of input signal(linear)

Re: filtering----linear?

There are both linear and non-linear filters
