Hello guys. Up till now i have been using the built in serial port and default serial protocol available in microcontrollers (like PIC). Since default state of the Tx (transmit) pin is HI, i need to use the inverted mode i.e. i need the default state of the Tx pin to be low. How could i implement it with the serial pins available in the controller.

Can only one PNP transistor could serve the purpose or is there anyother direct method??

You can do this with your software, no need of any hardware parts..

In CCS

#use rs232(baud=9600, xmit=PIN_C6, rcv=PIN_C7, FORCE_SW, BITS=8, STOP=1, PARITY=N,INVERT,stream=COM_A)

You should use software UART if inverted...

As shown above

FORCE_SW ( force_software )
