interfacing usb with at89c51

this is in relation to a previous thread(https://www.edaboard.com/threads/303116/), but i didn't get my doubt solved.

i have a circuit for rs232 to at89c51 communication with pc. but i want to communicate with my laptop. so can i simply buy a usb to rs232 convertor and attach it to the female rs232?

dont i need to install any drivers in my laptop? because there are no hyper terminals in laptops right?

and are there other hardware requirements for using usb to rs232 convertor?

if your laptop does not have hyperterm you can download the teraterm pro terminal emulator

to connect the laptop to the microcontroller RS32 port you can use a USB to RS232 converter such as
